Terms and Conditions for Centre for Harmonious Coexistence and Harmonious Tradition Inc.
Introduction
The University of Harmonious Living is an initiative of Centre for Harmonious Coexistence and will be conducted at the Folk Tree Lodge which is a venture of Harmonious Tradition Inc.
Registration
By registering with us (the property owner / his/her representative) you agree to the following terms and conditions as set-out. During your stay you agree to abide by the subsequent conditions as set-out. If you have any questions about registering with us, please contact us before completing your registration.
To register with us you must be at least 18 years of age. If a participant has registered for one of our courses and if planning to come with minors below the age of 18, they are held fully responsible for the minors.
To secure any registration we require a non-refundable deposit to be paid in advance, this deposit amount is $400 for the 3 months course, and $175 for the 7 days introduction workshop.Deposit payments must be ‘cleared funds’ before registration can be confirmed.
Payments
Payments can be made by e-transfer, bank transfer, cheque or cash deposit.
All registrants agree to respect the privacy and peace of all other staying participants, neighbours and the owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a registration with immediate effect if participants are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance / nuisance to other participants, neighbours or the owners.
Cancellation, Returned Deposit & Non-Arrival Conditions
Guest who need to cancel a booking should contact us as soon as possible.
- Participants, who are for whatever reason are unable to continue the course after arrival will not receive any refund of the course fee. In the rare event we need to cancel your registration with us, please be aware that we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control and that our liability to you is limited to the refund of any payment already made.
Smoking,Drugs and Alcohol
We do not allow the use drugs, alcohol, marijuana etc. at our campus. We highly discourage smoking cigarettes/tobacco, however do have tolerance if someone needs to smoke tobacco in designated smoking areas away from the common spaces. Please understand that by registering, you also agree to put effort towards reducing/stopping your smoking habit while on campus. If you require to smoke, please do so private and do not engage/offer others who might be working to quit this habit.
WiFi Fair & Appropriate Usage Policy
Where WiFi Internet access is provided, participants accept to use this access to the Internet fairly and appropriately. We may monitor network performance and user usage in order to maintain a fair and high level of service to all our participants.
The Internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media. It is not intended or ideally suited for media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads / uploads. Access to illegal activity or use of our network for illegal activity is not prohibited and will be reported to local authorities.
Damages & Lost Property
We reserve the right to charge the participant for any damages caused through the course of a stay by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture or fixtures and fittings. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible in order to minimize damage and associated costs. We are not responsible for any damage or loss of personal property of any kind. Any lost property, if discovered and found, left behind by participants during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belonging before leaving. We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.
Pets & Service Dogs
We do not accept pets throughout the accommodation.
Parking
Where on-site parking is provided guests accept that they park their vehicles at their own risk.
Your Personal Details & Privacy
We are required to keep a register of guests over the age of 18 who stay with us, this includes full names and nationality, copy of ID.
Our Right To Cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel any registration without compensation, refund or reimbursement if the terms of these conditions are breached.
Limitation of liability
In no event shall Centre for Harmonious Coexistence and/or Harmonious Tradition Inc, nor any of its officers, directors and employees, shall be held liable for anything including injury, accident, damage, calamity to yourself and/or your property due to participants or hosts negligence and/or non-negligence while participating in our programs inside or outside of the campus. This property is surrounded by forest, you will be completely responsible for your safety, security and protection keeping in mind that there are wild animals in the area. Centre for Harmonious Coexistence and/or Harmonious Tradition Inc, including its officers, directors and employees shall not be held liable for any indirect, consequential or special liability arising out of or in any way related to our courses.
Indemnification
You hereby indemnify to the fullest extent Centre for Harmonious Coexistence and Harmonious Tradition Inc. from and against any and/or all liabilities, costs, demands, causes of action, damages and expenses arising in any way related to your breach of any of the provisions of these Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid under any applicable law, such provisions shall be deleted without affecting the remaining provisions herein.
Variation of Terms
Centre for Harmonious Coexistence and/or Harmonious Tradition Inc are permitted to revise these Terms at any time as it sees fit, and by registering you are expected to review these Terms on a regular basis.
Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between Centre for Harmonious Coexistence and Harmonious Tradition Inc. and you in relation to your use of this Website, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Alberta, Canada for the resolution of any disputes.
